History Oruro Carnival
The Oruro Carnival is unique in the world for its religious sense. It begins 40 days before Easter, with the first treat in devotion to the Virgin of the Socavón, in which all the groups visit the temple where the ceremony of the permission and the promise takes place. From this act are intensified others such as the Calvary, the Evenings of the Virgin and the rehearsals of the dancers. One week before the Carnival, the second invitation is made, with the concentration of all the groups. On Friday it is traditionally dedicated to the "Uncle"'s invitation and the "Challa" of the mining sites is carried out.
